Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team at our corporate innovation center and headquarters located in Buffalo, New York!
The Systems Staff Engineer leads system-level engineering for customer applications, working closely with leadership, sales, engineering teams, suppliers, and customers. This role supports major multi-site projects built around Allients core technologies: Lead complex system design & analysis across electrical, mechanical, software, actuation, and composite technologies.
Define system architecture from customer requirements and applicable standards.
Use modeling and simulation to verify performance, reliability, safety, and risk mitigation.
Perform subsystem testing and support integration into customer vehicles or applications.
Evaluate new and modified product designs to ensure performance meets specifications.
Present technical information to support strategic, multi-site planning.
Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams on requirements, project updates, and test results.
Serve as a technology expert and help guide innovation for products and processes.
Work across multiple projects and locations simultaneously.
Some limited travel may be required (20% typical)
Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering + 11 years experience, or Masters degree + 9 years experience.
Experience with actuation systems (motors, gearing, ball screws, electronics, software).
Extensive experience using MATLAB and Simscape for dynamic, thermal, and power-flow analysis.
Knowledge of composites/lightweighting preferred.
Proven technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines.
