Job description
The rental mechanic position is responsible for keeping all of our equipment clean and correctly maintained.
nEssential Functions:
nnnProvides excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
n
nnCleans all rental equipment.
n
nnConducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
n
nnPurchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
n
nnInspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
n
nnAssists in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
n
nnChecks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
n
nnDeliver and pick up rental items as needed.
n
nnSet up and take down rental equipment if requested.
n
nnHelp load and unload equipment as needed.
n
nnRepair Stihl certified equipment.
n
nnHelp out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.
n
n nSupervisory Responsibility:
nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
nWork Environment:
nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
nPhysical Demands:
nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:
nThis is a full-time position, scheduled 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work can be between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Must be available to work weekends.
nTravel:
nMust have a valid drivers license to deliver and pick up rental equipment as needed.
nRequired Education and Experience:
nnnHigh school diploma or GED diploma or one to three years of related experience or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
n
nn1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
n
nnValid Driver's License required. Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required.
n
nnStihl certification preferred, will provide training to obtain this certification.
