Job description
Production/Repair OperatorLocation: Orlando, FL 32822 Duration: 06 Months Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PMThe Production/Repair Operator is responsible for advanced fabrication, assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing of cable & harness assemblies, electromechanical subassemblies, placards, and related components for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity products. This role supports schedule, design, quality, and FAA requirements with elevated proficiency and reduced supervision.Responsibilities:Reads, interprets, and applies engineering drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and work instructions with minimal supervision.Fabricates, inspects, and tests cable & harness assemblies, including more complex multi-branch configurations.Performs intermediate troubleshooting of production issues, wiring errors, incorrect terminations, continuity faults, and assembly defects.Programs and inspects labels/placards using labeling equipment; performs basic maintenance on machines.Performs and documents preventative maintenance and calibration checks on assigned tools and equipment.Supports continuous improvement activities, including 5S, quality containment, and root cause identification.Mentors Level 1 assemblers on basic tasks and correct workmanship practices.Performs additional duties such as material handling, part kitting, and supporting Florida locations using company vehicles.Performs advanced testing using HIPOT, continuity, multi-meters, VSWR testing, torque tools, automated test equipment, and documentation systems.Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED required; technical coursework preferred.Ability to pass or maintain IPC-A-620A certification (Required).4 years of related experience in cable/harness or electromechanical assembly.2 years of SAP experience.3 years of inventory control or shipping & receiving experience.Strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision.Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks as required Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.Demonstrated knowledge of IPC workmanship standards.Intermediate proficiency with crimping, soldering, coax tooling, stripping, and measurement tools.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP (preferred).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Able to perform tasks with minimal supervision and high accuracy.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of the imperial of U.S. customary system of measurement.
