About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge Molecular Biology team in Paarl . This role is focused on advancing research in areas such as genetic engineering, gene expression analysis, and cellular pathways. You will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of novel biological tools and therapeutic strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical background in molecular biology techniques, practical laboratory skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for scientific discovery, contributing to impactful research projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA isolation, cloning, and sequencing.
Design and conduct experiments to investigate gene function, protein interactions, and cellular signaling pathways.
Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and molecular biology software.
Contribute to the development and optimization of new molecular and cellular assays.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, documenting experiments and results.
Collaborate with other scientists to share findings and contribute to project goals.
Requirements
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
Proven experience with standard molecular biology laboratory techniques.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using relevant software tools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple experiments concurrently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting results and collaborating with team members.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in learning new techniques.
