Department: Immunology & Microbiology

Job Title: Research Services Entry Professional

Position # - Requisition #41086

Job Summary:

The Mathew Lab investigates how systemic cytokine signaling and host inflammation shape CD8 T-cell differentiation, antitumor immunity, and responses to cancer immunotherapy. By integrating human clinical studies with mechanistic mouse models, the lab uses high-dimensional flow cytometry, single-cell transcriptomics, multiplex proteomics, and in vivo CRISPR screening to identify cytokine programs that promote durable immune priming or drive terminal T-cell dysfunction.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, receive, process, and cryopreserve time-sensitive blood and tissue samples from patients participating in clinical studies.

Isolate and culture primary immune cells and prepare samples for downstream functional and molecular assays.

Perform high-dimensional flow-cytometry experiments, including antibody-panel preparation, staining, acquisition, quality control, and analysis.

Support single-cell transcriptomic, multiplex-proteomic, and CRISPR-screening workflows.

Assist with mouse models of cancer immunotherapy, including treatment administration, monitoring, tissue collection, and immune profiling.

Maintain accurate experimental records, clinical-sample inventories, databases, protocols, reagents, and laboratory equipment while following institutional safety and regulatory requirements.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet lab

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

Outstanding customer service skills

Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as$47,811 - $58,861.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
