Resident Engineer/ Transportation Construction InspectorFisher Associates is seeking a Resident Engineer/ Transportation Construction Inspector to oversee a Pedestrian Improvement project in City of Oneonta, Otsego County NY. Work includes construction of a shared use path, sidewalks, lighting, drainage, guiderail, and signals. Construction is anticipated in 2027.Location: City of OneontaDuration: Approximately 6 monthsLevel: IVSalary Range: $35-$55/hrFor confidential inquiries contact Dave Keller:Email: or Text: What you will do:Perform on-site inspections to confirm construction activities match approved plans and codesIdentify and report any deviations from approved plans and specificationsEnsure work complies with local, state, and federal requirementsKeep clear inspection records, including photos and notesPrepare inspection reports and document needed correctionsWork with project teams including contractors, project managers, and engineers to discuss inspection results and address any issuesAttend meetings and provide inspection updatesProvide recommendations to bring non-compliant work up to standardMonitor material quality and workmanshipOversee job sites for safety complianceReport and address any safety hazards or violations promptlyOther duties as assignedRequirementsQualifications:NICET Level IV certification or NYSDOT equivalent experienceOSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (required)Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experiencePhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
