Property Tax ConsultantSummary of Job Description: Provide assistance to O'Connor & Associates' clients in order to help homeowners lower their property taxes through the appeals process at various Appraisal Districts.Job Responsibilities:Review homeowner and tax roll documentation and local area researchResearch each client's account with specialized programsCommunicate with assigned Appraisal District personnel regarding hearing process/methodologyCommunicate with clients and customer service staff on all hearing mattersParticipate in ARB hearings in person, via telephone conference or by affidavit submissionNegotiate lowering the property's assessed valueConduct formal and informal hearings at Appraisal DistrictTravel to surrounding counties to participate in hearingsManage portfolio for client values $750K-$1MPrepare and present files to be heard in arbitration hearingsOther duties as assignedRequirements:Active broker, sales or appraiser license; CPA or attorney (in TX) preferred, but not required.2+ years of recent Real Estate activity preferredBasic knowledge of how real estate is valued/commercial a plusWill consider unlicensed professionals in other areas of professionBachelor's Degree or some college preferredPowerful and effective communication, persuasion and negotiation skillsAbility to do multiple tasks simultaneously and continually meet objectivesStrong work ethic demonstrated through attendance and work performanceMust be available to work core business hours plus evenings, weekends and holidays during the peak seasonAbility to travel to surrounding countiesReliable transportationAbility to work in fast paced environmentJob locations in Houston (Loop 610 near 290)Company willing to pay training fees for qualified individualsWe provide you with a portfolio of clients and access to computers and research material. As needed, the company will pay for any continuing education courses required to obtain a Property Tax Consultant license.We provide a competitive salary, plus commission based on the percent of reductions made.
