Job Summary:
College Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner/Respiratory Therapist working full time hours on a Temporary basis. The position runs from December-April typically to cover the peak season. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality respiratory therapy services to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to established standards and practices. You will collaborate closely with medical staff to assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care, contributing to improved patient outcomes and high standards of care in our facility.
Qualifications:
Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license and graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
Preferably one year of experience providing all aspects of respiratory care in an acute care hospital, including arterial blood gas analysis, therapeutic modalities for oxygen and medication delivery, chest physiotherapy, patient assessment, and related procedures
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) if graduated after January 1, 2015, or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential if graduated prior to January 1, 2015
Job Specifics:
Administer prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and medications
Perform diagnostic evaluations, including arterial blood gas analysis
Evaluate patient responses and modify treatment plans as appropriate
Document all care provided and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment
Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, additional compensation may be available for College Medical Center roles, such as shift differentials and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for this position is a reasonable estimate that ranges from the lowest to the highest pay College Medical Center in good faith, believes it might pay for this job based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
