Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Experience: Minimum of 1 year required
License: State or Compact license required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRPS
Must-Have:
- Experience with adult and pediatric patient care
- Skills in endotracheal tube placement and suctioning
- Knowledge of intubation assistance and oral airway placement
- Experience with tracheostomy suctioning and aerosol setup
- Ability to manage BiPAP and CPAP
- Proficient in weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Competence in arterial blood gas interpretation
Description:
A Respiratory Therapist is needed for the night shift.
This position is within a healthcare facility that includes a trauma center and an intensive care unit.
The healthcare facility has a 205-bed capacity and includes services for medical, surgical, rehabilitation, progressive care, intensive care, and limited pediatric patients.
There will be 4-6 respiratory therapists on staff during each shift.
Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend.
Experience with the documentation system Epic is required.
This position accepts first-time travelers.
The candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify.
Skills in advanced respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy and high-risk delivery assistance are preferred.
Candidates should have experience in troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and understanding basic EKG readings.
The typical patient demographic includes adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Daily census is approximately 120 patients.
Interdisciplinary support is available through various teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy.
