Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in respiratory therapy
License: VA License or proof of application for VA license
Certifications: BLS, CRT, ACLS (must be obtained within 90 days of start)
Must-Have:
- Respiratory experience including airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gases, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers
- Ability to float to emergency and adult ICU stepdown units
- Mandatory on-call commitment of 3 shifts per 6-week period
Description:
The position requires a registered respiratory therapist with adult experience.
Candidates must be able to float to the emergency room and adult ICU stepdown units.
Mandatory on-call shifts are required, totaling three every six weeks.
Experience in airway management, medication administration, and pulmonary therapies is essential.
The role demands proficiency in arterial blood gas draw and analysis, as well as CPAP/BiPAP implementation.
Adult critical care experience is preferred; however, it is not mandatory.
Candidates will be expected to provide various aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies during night shifts.
Attendance at monthly department meetings is required when scheduled; if not working, acknowledgment of meeting minutes is necessary.
Individuals should have experience in both adult and neonatal intensive care as well as emergency department settings.
Candidates should be comfortable following safety protocols and quality initiatives.
Charge experience is preferred but training will be provided for those without it.
This position supports care across a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
The respiratory therapist will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
