Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Must-Have: Active license in hand prior to submission
Description:
MUST HAVE LICENSE PRIOR TO SUBMIT.
Specialty: RRT.
Shift: 18:30 - 07:00.
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract.
Floating: From Long Term Care to Acute Care as needed.
Years of Experience Required: 1 year.
Unit accepts first-time travelers.
Skills required:
Adult Critical Care.
Emergency Department experience.
Extubation and Intubation Assist.
Nasal airway placement and suctioning.
Oral airway placement and suctioning.
Sputum specimen collection.
Suctioning (ETT, NT).
Tracheostomy care and management.
Hand-held devices and T-piece usage.
Trach collar application.
Bag and mask skills.
ET Tube handling.
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) use.
BiPAP and CPAP administration.
Troubleshooting high pressure alarms.
Weaning from mechanical ventilation.
Long-term care experience.
Floating required: Yes, between hospitals as needed.
Personal car is required for travel.
Patient Diagnoses include CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, Respiratory Failure, and Respiratory Infections.
Special Procedures and Unit Details include ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment skills, medication administration, and pulmonary hygiene.
Special Equipment includes Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60.
Candidates will float between facilities as needed.
Background policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Return staff must have a 6-month gap.
