nPosition Overview:
nThe Respiratory Care Practitioner performs the activities of an RCP in both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. The RCP must also be proficient in ABG sampling and analysis, and EKG performance.

nEDUCATION:
nnOther: Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (may be evidenced by RCP/RRT/CRT license)
n nCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
nnnRCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner
n
nnRRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist (not required for SRMC SEIU) OR CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist (not required for SRMC SEIU)
n
nnBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
n
n nDEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
nnnNRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider if required at the entity
n
nnACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support if required by entity
n
nnPALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support if required by entity
n
nnDepartment, STCH: NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support, & PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support required

nnDepartment, Home Health & Hospice: AUTO-Automobile Insurance

n nTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
nn2 years of recent relevant experience.
n nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
nnnKnowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
n
nnAbility to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
n
nnCapable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
n
nnPossess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
n
nnWell-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
n
nnGeneral knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.
n
nnPrioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
n
nnWork independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

nPay Range is $59.03 to $74.11 / hour
nThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
