Job description
As a Respiratory Therapist Assistant at MedStar Health, you will support licensed respiratory therapists in delivering safe, patient-centered respiratory care across our Maryland–Washington, D.C. system. You will assist with patient assessments, prepare and administer routine treatments such as oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments, monitor vital signs and treatment response, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, you will follow strict infection control and safety standards, help maintain and clean respiratory equipment, and contribute to educating patients and families on basic respiratory care techniques. This role offers exposure to advanced clinical practice, ongoing training, and clear pathways to grow within respiratory therapy and broader clinical roles while serving diverse communities with compassion and professionalism.
