nResponsibilities
nnnSet up and provide education / instruction on safe use of Respiratory equipment in accordance of written physician prescription and patient evaluation .
n
nnResponsible for set up documentation and patient follow up as necessary .
n
nnEnsures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to plan of care . Uses equipment and supplies safely , effectively , and efficiently .
n
nnConsistently utilizes a patientcentered approach considering physical , psych / social , spiritual , educational , safety
n
nnDevelops afield of expertise by maintaining a working knowledge of third party coverage .
n
nnMaintains accurate and timely documentation of clinical records .
n
nnAssist in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of respiratory equipment .
n
nnResponsible for selecting the most appropriate and cost-effective equipment and supplies from available product options approved by management .
n
nnConducts clinical review of record to include multi-disciplinary review , coordination of care provided in conjunction with visits and documentation .
n
nnIdentifies risk for acute hospitalization and proactively prevents adverse events .
n
nnAssists in the promotion of services and products .
n
nnEmployee is responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to responding to email, voicemail or telephone messages, promptly accurately, and professionally; attending staff meetings as scheduled of viewing videotapes of those meetings' asking questions of team members and supervisors when needing clarification about various day-to-day issues or patients needs' and reviewing employee communication pieces, to stay aware of UnityPoint at Home programs and initiatives.

nnMaintains compliance with Personnel policies and procedures
n
nnPerform other duties as requested by management to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the organization
n
n nQualifications
nEducation:
nnnAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required .
n
nnGraduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program required .
n
n nExperience:
nnOne (1) year critical care respiratory therapy experience preferred.
n nLicense(s)/Certification(s):
nnnMust have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice required :

nnRCPIL
n
nnRCPIA
n
nnRCPWI
n
nnRegistered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC ) required.
n
nnMandatory Reporter required within 90 days of hire:

nnBasic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
n
nnValid driver’s license required .
