nGENERAL OVERVIEW:
nProvides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.
nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
nnnAdministers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
n
nnCompletes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
n
nnPerforms diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
n
nnProvides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned or required.
n
n nQUALIFICATIONS:
nMinimum
nnnGraduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
n
nnPennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist,or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
n
nnCertified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
n
n nPreferred
nnnRegistered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT
n
nnTwo years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.
n
n nAdditional Employment Requirements:
nnnCPR - American Heart Association.
n
nnAct 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
n
nnAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
n
nnAct 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
