nAt Apria, you will experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This position provides a balance of branch operations and patient-facing respiratory care while helping patients successfully transition from hospital to home.
nKey Highlights
nnnCoverage includes rotation between the Plainview and Riverhead branches
n
nnHours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
n
nnWork Arrangement: On-site; approximately 80% office and 20% field
n
nnDriving Territory: Up to 1.5 hours from the branch
n
n nSalary Range
nn$52.00 – $60.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.
n nOn-Call Transparency
nnnRotating on-call schedule shared among all Respiratory Therapists
n
nnWeek-long coverage rotation
n
n nWhat You'll Do
nnnConduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups
n
nnEducate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
n
nnAssess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
n
nnRespond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
n
nnCollaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
n
nnMaintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
n
nnSet up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
n
nnInspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
n
nnPerform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
n
nnPerforms other duties as required

n nWhat We Look For
nnnRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an active New York RT license preferred.
n
nnOpen to candidates with varying experience levels; 2+ years preferred.
n
nnAlso open to Registered Nurses (RN) with:
n
nn3 to 5 years of ICU experience
n
nnExperience caring for patients on ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP therapy
n
nnExperience treating patients with respiratory conditions
n
nnExperience caring for tracheostomy (Trach) patients
n
nnAbility to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 to 50 lbs.
n
nnValid driver's license.
n
nnComfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
n
nnStrong teamwork, customer service, communication, patient education, and organizational skills.
n
n nEducation
nnGraduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
n nCertificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
nnnHold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
n
nnHold a current CPR Certification
n
nnHold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
n
