nnRESPIRATORY THERAPIST - PRN
n JOB DESCRIPTION:
nUsing the cognitive skills of application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation the team respiratory therapist is responsible for conducting discipline specific assessment and providing appropriate treatments/services to patients in accordance with established standards of practice and performance.
nESSENTIAL DUTIES REQUIRED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
nnUnder general supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Manager, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy primarily to critical care patients in the SCU
nPerforms invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to SCU and General Practive Units patients including both respiratory and cardiac testing.
nMaintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments at various business units throughout MMH as assigned.
nCommunicates effectively with patient, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed regarding patient care needs.
nPerforms daily QC checks and conducts preventative maintenance on department equipment.
nAdequately documents all aspects of patient care. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information
nKeep knowledge and skills current via education activities, in-services and other training.
nPerform related duties as needed including assisting others with their work.
nMust demonstrate initiative and ownership in performance of duties and be self starter.
nFunction well under stressful conditions involving other departments, workload, etc.
nAdapt to changing work assignments and comfortable serving diverse community.
n nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
nn Education: Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program. Registration or Certification with the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current Illinois license for RCP.
n nEXPERIENCE:
nnPrefer 1 year as a Respiratory Therapist.
n nSHIFT:
nnVaried shift.
