nWe’re seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist to join our team! The Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care. This position provides leadership and direction to respiratory care staff, including scheduling, staffing, and professional development. The Lead collaborates with physicians, offices, and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in alignment with established respiratory care standards.

nResponsibilities
nnnProvide daily leadership for respiratory care staff, directing workflow, delegating duties, and ensuring safe, compliant patient care
n
nnOversee day to day clinical operations, resolve complex issues, enforce safety standards, and ensure adherence to physician orders and policies
n
nnEvaluate and coach staff, support hiring and onboarding, lead training and competency reviews, and promote professional growth
n
nnManage staffing levels, assignments, charge capture accuracy, and efficient use of time and resources across the department
n
nnServe as a clinical expert, educating staff on new equipment, updated practices, and respiratory care standards
n
nnDeliver advanced respiratory care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ventilator management, neonatal care, and emergency response
n
nnSet up, operate , and troubleshoot complex respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function, safety, and availability
n
nnAct as a resource for equipment operations, monitor rental usage, and support quality improvement, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration
n
n nQualifications
nEducation:
nnGraduate of accredited program and eligible for registry as an RRT is required
n nExperience:
nnMust have at least three (3) years of Respiratory Care experience, at least two (2) of which must be in direct clinical care. This may be waived in certain circumstances by the Respiratory Care department leadership
n nLicense(s)/Certification(s):
nnnRequired Upon Hire:

nnMust have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice.

nnIowa Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography (IBRC)

nnRequired within 90 Days of Hire
n
nnChild Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care

nnAdult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care
n
nnMust possess and maintain one of the following through American Heart Association (AHA)
n
nnBasic Life Support (BLS)
n
nnAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
n
nnRequired within 1 year of Hire if specializing in pediatric/neonatal critical care medicine
n
nnNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
n
nnPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
n
