Job description
Overview
nUnder supervision, to perform work involving the delivery of direct patient care in the areas of respiratory therapy. Maintains appropriate computer records of services provided.
nResponsibilities
nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
nAdministers oxygen therapy as ordered.
nAdministers physician prescribed respiratory treatments to patients within their individual registration to practice, including intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB), nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, and chest physiotherapy.
nOperates and maintains non-invasive monitoring systems as ordered, including pulse oximeters, transcutaneous monitors, and oxygen analyzers.
nPerforms deep endotracheal and nasotracheal suction and tracheostomy care per procedure.
nPerforms patient assessments for response to therapy.
nSets-up, attaches, operates and manages mechanical ventilators.
nQualifications
nJOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
n Knowledge of respiratory care therapeutics and oxygen therapy and all related equipment.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate high level of discretion, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in activities.
Ability to present in pleasant professional manner for effective communications.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

n High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
n nEXPERIENCE
n 1year Respiratory Therapy Preferred
n nLICENSE/CERTIFICATION
n Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist
BLS Certification
