Job Description
Respiratory Therapist
Schedule
36 hours per week - Three 12-hour shifts from 1800 to 0630, every other weekend, and rotating holiday schedule.
Assignment Details
Permanent position.
Requirements
Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program
State Respiratory Care Practitioner license
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
AHA Provider Level BLS certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Less than 1 year of experience
Responsibilities Perform routine therapies aiding in the treatment and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status.
Conduct emergency rounds and oxygen saturation checks, and titrate oxygen as necessary.
Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean ventilation, making parameter recommendations based on assessments.
Evaluate treatment regimens including medication delivery and oxygen administration.
Assess patients clinically before and after therapies, recommending appropriate changes.
Educate patients and families on therapies, medications, and equipment.
Operate and maintain respiratory equipment in compliance with universal precautions.
Respond to emergent care situations, assisting with resuscitation and airway management.
Transport patients on ventilation devices safely to procedures and testing.
Participate in community education events related to respiratory care.
Engage in self-development activities and continuing education.
Compliance / Notes
Holiday coverage is required.
