Registered Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy
Schedule
Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12s, Rotating Weekends.
Assignment Details
Guaranteed Hours: 36.00
Contract Weeks: 13
Requirements
Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential: Preferred.
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Required at time of hire or within 90 days.
At least two years recent experience in the field.
Able to intubate.
Responsibilities Administers respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients as prescribed.
Assesses and documents the appropriateness of prescribed therapy for patients.
Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy, while maintaining patient charts.
Draws arterial blood gases as per policy and physician order.
Provides care for ventilator patients and maintains records of treatment given.
Participates in training and supervision of new employees.
