Respiratory Therapist
Schedule
Night Shift, 3 x 12s, 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM, no set days of the week.
Assignment Details
Guaranteed Hours: 36.00
Contract Weeks: 13
Requirements
Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential: Required in CA, OR, and HI.
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required in CA.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Required.
At least two years recent experience in the field: Required.
Responsibilities Assesses and documents the appropriateness of prescribed therapy for patients receiving respiratory care services.
Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining charts.
Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order.
Provides care to ventilator patients.
Assists in department record keeping and operation, as well as participation in training and supervision of new employees.
Documents care given and maintains records of treatment provided.
