nAspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPIST to join our RESPIRATORY THERAPY team! Whether experienced or a new graduate, Aspirus offers an extended on-boarding process including providing mentorship to help you be successful!

nnnYou will provide respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments.

nnAssists in orientation training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care.

n

nnProvides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care.

n

nnWhenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

n n"Aspirus Wausau Hospital Respiratory Therapists practice at the top of their license. We have a strong Assess and Treat and Ventilator management protocols, along with advanced practices such as Arterial Line placement and Intubation. We have Adult Medical and Cardiac ICUs and a Neonatal ICU. Our therapists are a part of our NICU transport team and support a busy Trauma Certified Emergency Department. We have a clinical ladder for those who qualify after 2 years of joining out team. We are a growing department and welcome new team members."

nHOURS: .9 FTE/72 hours every two weeks, every third weekend, night shift (7pm-6:30am)

nExperience/Qualifications

nnnKnowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.

n

nnAn active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.

n

nnRegistered RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care, or registry eligible and obtained within one year of hire.

n

nnCurrent BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

n

nnActive membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care, experience with electrocardiography, arterial monitoring and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) beneficial.

n

nnACLS beneficial. Acceptable certification is the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Course or the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Course including a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA ACLS or PALS instructor or by using a voice assisted manikin (VAM) system.
