n nMajor Responsibilities: The Respiratory Therapy Program Director serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of the Respiratory Therapy program, responsible for all aspects of program operation, continuous quality improvement, accreditation compliance, student success initiatives, faculty supervision, community engagement, and development of internal and external partnerships. This position requires strategic leadership in coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating all components of the Respiratory Therapy program to ensure excellence in respiratory care education.
nnKey Responsibilities:
nnCommunication Management: Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
nPolicy Adherence and Ethical Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
nUniversity Engagement: Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student , university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
nSpecial Projects: Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
nCompliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
nAssigned Duties: Undertake other assigned duties as required.
n n nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:
nnPrepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited respiratory therapy courses
nRead, understand and comply with the University’s mission, the catalog, the University’s policies and procedures, the Staff Handbook and Institutional Effectiveness process.
nRespond to communications (e-mail, voice mail) on a daily basis.
nDevelops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
nEstablishes, measures, and evaluates program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success.
nCorrelation of clinical education with didactic education using approved curriculum format
nPeriodic revision of course materials and manuals
nMaintains accreditation; knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures
nMaintains assurance of effective program operations
nManages ongoing program assessment
nRequests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares/plans budget requests
nAttend professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
nTeaches respiratory therapy courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
nEvaluation and advisement of students in a didactic/clinical setting
nMeets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues
nEnsures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area
nAssists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
nRequires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
nPosition may require committee and project assignments or other duties as assigned as well as day/evening/distance learning classes and activities.
nPerforms other duties as assigned.
nEnsure they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of 1972.
nSupport and participate in University Commencement Ceremonies.
nParticipate in the new students’ .
nParticipate in the self-studies and committees conducted by the University.
n nMinimum Qualifications :
nnMaster’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institutions or universities.
nHolds a current registration in Respiratory Therapy.
nDocuments three years clinical experience in the professional discipline.
nDocuments a minimum of two years’ experience as an instructor in a NBRC-accredited program.
nExperience with CoARC Accreditation process.

nnSchedule : Monday through Friday from 12PM to 9PM/ as needed
