Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Meditech is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have 2 years of experience in the specialty. Must have ventilatory skills. Must be able to work by themselves.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Pediatric experience is preferred and would be helpful but is not required.
Unit Details: Treatment volume is 50-75+ treatments per day, depending on census. The respiratory team covers inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department areas. The patient population is mostly adults; emergency department care includes adults, pediatric patients, and neonates, with occasional neonates in labor and delivery. Inpatient duties include ventilator management, ABG draws, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, nebulizer treatments, metered-dose inhalers, and flutter/airway clearance. Outpatient duties include setting up nocturnal pulse oximetry and blood gases. RTs assist with intubation rather than performing it independently for now. Future plans include Sleep Lab coverage and possible cross-training to Pulmonary/Cardiac Rehab. Equipment includes Hamilton Medical C1 and C3 ventilators for BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen, Masimo SoftFlow high-flow systems, Masimo pulse oximeters, a GEM5000 ABG analyzer, and ResMed bedside CPAP/BiPAP. A hospitalist or intensivist is in-house during the day and on call at night. A respiratory manager is available 24/7 on call for weekends and overnights.
Shift & Scheduling: Shift times are 5:45-615. Every Monday and Tuesday are day shifts; Wednesday and Friday night shifts alternate. Every other weekend. Holiday coverage is required where needed. Extra shifts may be available to cover vacation requests.
Floating Requirements: One RT will be assigned to the emergency department and will have a lighter workload that day.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
