Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: PICU experience is required. Adult critical care, ED, PICU, and pediatric experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Pulmonary function test lab experience preferred.

Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission. All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Unit Details: Patient volume/load includes 5 ventilators and 6-8 RVUs. Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Airway management and suctioning include extubation, intubation assistance, nasal airway placement and suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning. Medications administered include albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Mucomyst, nitric oxide (iNO), Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, theophylline, tobramycin, and Xopenex. Medication delivery systems include aerosol setup by mask, aerosol setup by tracheostomy, Medihaler, and metered-dose inhaler. Nebulizer types include cold, handheld, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, and tracheostomy collar. Ventilator management includes BiPAP, flow-by, CPAP, high-frequency oscillator, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Required ventilators include Draeger and Servo I. Professional knowledge and skills include ABG interpretation and basic EKG.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend coverage is variable.

Floating Requirements: You must be open to floating to other campuses and Swedish facilities; Swedish Issaquah is the most likely float location, and the assignment may include pediatric and adult coverage.
