Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Shift & Scheduling: - Shift times are 6a-6:30p and 6p-6:30a. - Must be willing to work days and nights. - Every other weekend is required. - If a block schedule is approved, work the holiday that falls within it; expectation is to fill in where needed. - No call.
Special Requests: - Some block schedules have been granted, but only a few RTs can have a block schedule because flexibility is essential.
Unit Details: - Treatment volume is 4-8 treatments per round. - The patient population is mostly adults. Pediatric patients are typically stabilized until transfer, and few are admitted. Neonates up to 28 days are seen for high-risk cesarean sections and may require assistance with PPV before transfer. - The department covers the ER, SPCU, OB high-risk cesarean sections, Stress Lab, PFT Lab, and EEG Lab; teaching may be provided in the Stress, PFT, and EEG labs. - Outpatient training and competency depend on contract length and availability. - Clinical work includes mechanical ventilation, including NIV with Hamilton C1; all types of inhalation therapy; drawing ABGs; performing EKGs with i-STAT; and setting up Holter monitors. - Equipment includes Hamilton C1 and T1 ventilators, ResMed home CPAP/BiPAP, NeoPuff, and i-STAT. - RTs assist with intubation; independent intubation is not required. - Night shifts are worked independently. - Hospitalist or intensivist coverage is in-house during the day. Avel provides on-call support at night for ventilator setup and management, with nurses on the team; clinic physicians cover their patients in the hospital.
