Job Description Job Description We're Hiring a Chef for a New Restaurant
We're opening a new restaurant and looking for an experienced chef who is fast, organized, reliable, and genuinely loves cooking. Consistency is very important to us. We want every customer to receive the same great meal every time they visit.
Since this is a new restaurant, we're also looking for someone who can help us build the kitchen the right way from the beginning. This includes helping with menu development, recipes, portion sizes, food costs, inventory, kitchen setup, food safety, ordering, reducing waste, and creating good prep and opening/closing routines.
We're looking for someone who:
• Is a very good and experienced cook
• Works quickly and efficiently during busy hours
• Keeps the kitchen clean and organized
• Can manage multiple orders at once
• Understands food safety and proper food handling
• Produces consistent food every time
• Understands portions, food costs, inventory, and waste
• Can help develop and improve menu items
• Communicates well with kitchen staff, servers, and management
• Can train and guide other kitchen employees
• Is dependable and shows up on time
• Takes responsibility when something goes wrong and helps fix it
• Has a positive attitude and treats coworkers with respect
• Is willing to listen to feedback and make improvements
• Can solve problems quickly without creating unnecessary drama
Experience helping open a restaurant or managing a kitchen is a big plus.
Most importantly, we want someone who takes pride in their food . We want a chef who cares about what leaves the kitchen, wants customers to enjoy their meals, and wants to grow with us as the restaurant grows.
