Many of Macy's top executives started their careers in part-time retail sales roles, or as recent college graduates into our development programs in the various functions at Macy's.Job OverviewThe Housekeeping Lead will ensure the store is cleaned daily for our customers and will be committed to creating and maintaining a positive quality work environment for the housekeepers.Essential FunctionsEnsures the store is cleaned daily for our customersPick up trash from registers, restrooms, offices, common areasClean and restock restrooms including sanitizing lavatories, walls, counters and basinsDust the sales floor and fixturesMaintain the carpets and tile floors throughout the storeTrain housekeepersInventory cleaning suppliesQualifications and CompetenciesPreferred 2 Year / Associate Degree1 year of experienceStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesResourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesAbility to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidaysPhysical RequirementsPosition requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or departmentMay involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color visionFrequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactionsFrequently lift/move up to 25lbsThis job description is not all-inclusive and may not apply to colleagues covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
