Job description
A retail pharmacist opportunity is available at a grocery store pharmacy in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with additional coverage duties at a nearby secondary retail location. This travel contract role offers a flexible assignment length of 13 weeks or longer, with shorter contracts considered.

Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Primary location closed on weekends and six major holidays
Occasional weekend coverage possible at the secondary location
Qualifications/Desired Experience: Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain before start
Disclosure and verification of all active/inactive licenses required
Minimum one year as a registered pharmacist preferred
APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days
Ability to cover shifts at a secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
Experience in retail pharmacy, preferably in a grocery store setting
Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
Experience supervising pharmacy technicians
Responsibilities: Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications following protocols
Maintain precise patient medication profiles
Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
Participate in medical emergency response as a pharmacy team member
Conduct medication storage inspections and remove outdated stock
Orient and train new team members
Follow infection control protocols in all pharmacy operations
This contract includes travel stipends for housing, meals, and travel expenses. Weekly pay and medical benefits are provided. Flexibility to travel and cover shifts across locations is essential.
