Job description
Provide expert pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for diverse patient populations. This role involves evaluating medication therapies, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and collaborating closely with medical staff and patients to optimize health outcomes. Location: Fairfield, OH
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with every 6th weekend coverage (with subsequent weekday off)
Start Date: June 1st
Job Type: Contract
Licensure: Valid Ohio Pharmacy License required
Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (minimum one year)
Key Responsibilities
Accurately review, validate, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions.
Monitor patient medication therapies to ensure appropriateness, safety, and effectiveness.
Maintain compliance with departmental policies, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Provide drug information and counseling to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Participate in emergency drug therapy management and medication preparation.
Oversee pharmacy technician activities to support department needs efficiently.
Embody organizational values such as empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork in daily work.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
Active Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing with the State Board.
One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients.
Ability to prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic environment.
