Job description

A busy retail pharmacy in Mount Sterling, Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support daily operations in a fast-paced environment. This role offers flexibility for part-time or full-time schedules, with pharmacy hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pharmacy dispenses approximately 3,000 prescriptions weekly and benefits from strong technician support during the week and on Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify prescriptions accurately to ensure patient safety

Provide thorough patient counseling and respond to medication-related inquiries

Oversee pharmacy workflow and collaborate with pharmacy technicians

Utilize PioneerRx system to process and manage prescriptions efficiently

Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations

Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and support pharmacy staff

Assist with Saturday coverage as needed (1 to 2 Saturdays per month)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing

Recent experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred

Proficiency with PioneerRx is advantageous

Ability to thrive in a high-volume pharmacy environment

Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach

Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays

Additional Information:

Staffing typically includes 2 pharmacists and 5 to 6 technicians on weekdays; 1 pharmacist and 3 to 4 technicians on Saturdays

Housing is covered for traveling candidates

This opportunity is offered on a contract-to-hire basis
