Job description

RETINA SPECIALIST / VITREORETINAL SURGEON

Established Practice Succession | One-Year Partnership Track | Tulsa, Oklahoma

Walk into the retina practice others spend years building.

The Eye Institute (TEI) is seeking a fellowship-trained Retina Specialist to succeed a retiring physician and assume an established medical and surgical retina practice. This is a planned succession—not a start-up and not an empty schedule. The incoming physician will step into an existing patient base, active injection and surgical volume, an experienced retina team, established referral relationships, and a fully equipped practice.

TEI is recruiting a future partner . The role includes a negotiable guaranteed salary and a defined path to partnership after one year, with the opportunity to lead and grow the retina service line within a physician-led multispecialty organization.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY STANDS OUT

Established retina practice with immediate patient, injection, and surgical volume

Partnership eligibility after one year following a successful mutual transition

Negotiable guaranteed salary structured around experience and the overall opportunity

Fully staffed and equipped practice with experienced retina clinical support already in place

Long-standing external referral relationships plus internal referrals from a comprehensive ophthalmology group

Physician-led environment with clinical autonomy and the administrative infrastructure to support growth

Join a privately, physician owned Ophthalmology group with 11 Ophthalmologists and 9 Optometrists

Research options available

Full benefits package including health, dental, 401k

WHY THE EYE INSTITUTE

The Eye Institute is the largest comprehensive ophthalmology group in Northeastern Oklahoma and the only group in the region offering the full range of ophthalmic subspecialty care. All of our ophthalmologists are board certified and all of our subspecialists are fellowship trained. Retina is supported by colleagues in cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology/adult strabismus, cataract and refractive surgery, comprehensive ophthalmology, and optometry—creating a collaborative clinical environment and a meaningful source of internal referrals.

Shared infrastructure includes billing and revenue cycle, HR, IT, marketing, finance, compliance, purchasing, and practice operations . The result is the autonomy and upside of private practice with far less administrative burden.

WHY TULSA, OKLAHOMA

Tulsa offers the lifestyle many physicians are looking for: affordable housing, excellent public and private school options, short commutes, a strong arts and dining community, abundant outdoor recreation, community involvement opportunities as well as convenient travel through Tulsa International Airport. It’s a city where a demanding medical career can coexist with time for family and life outside of the practice.

If you are looking for an established practice where you can be productive immediately and have a meaningful role in its future, we would value a confidential conversation.

WHO WE ARE SEEKING

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in medical and surgical retina, committed to exceptional patient care, collaborative by nature, and interested in building a long-term career as a partner and physician leader. Experienced retina specialists and graduating fellows are encouraged to inquire.
