Retina Surgeon – Grand Junction, Colorado
Physician-Owned, Non-PE Retina-Only Practice | Partnership Track
Front Range Retina is seeking a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon to join our growing, physician-owned retina practice in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is an opportunity for a motivated physician to help establish and grow a retina practice serving Grand Junction and surrounding Western Colorado communities, with the support of an established practice and the opportunity for long-term professional growth.
We welcome applications from both graduating vitreoretinal fellows and experienced retina surgeons.
About Front Range Retina
Front Range Retina is an independent, physician-owned practice founded by vitreoretinal surgeon Steven M. Christiansen, MD. Since opening in 2021, the practice has grown to serve patients across Colorado, with established offices in Littleton, Castle Rock, and Colorado Springs, and a new location in Grand Junction.
Front Range Retina was founded on a commitment to excellent, patient-centered retina care, expanding access to specialized care in the communities we serve, and the belief that physicians should have a meaningful role in shaping the practices they help build.
As we grow, we intend to preserve the physician autonomy, clinical judgment, and personal relationships that make independent, physician-owned practice rewarding.
We are not owned by private equity or a hospital system, and we intend to remain an independent, physician-led practice.
The Grand Junction Opportunity
Front Range Retina is expanding into Grand Junction to help meet the need for specialized retina care in Western Colorado. We are establishing a dedicated office with the intention of developing a long-term, locally based retina practice.
The incoming surgeon will have the opportunity to play an important role in shaping that growth, developing relationships with referring ophthalmologists and optometrists, and becoming a trusted retina specialist for patients throughout the region.
This position combines the resources and support of an established practice with the professional satisfaction of helping build a new location.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation includes a competitive guaranteed base salary with productivity-based bonus potential. A partnership track is available for a physician interested in building a long‑term future with Front Range Retina.

MD or DO degree
Completion of an ophthalmology residency
Completion of a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, or anticipated fellowship completion before the employment start date
Board-certified or board‑eligible in ophthalmology
Eligible for an unrestricted Colorado medical license
Commitment to excellent, patient‑centered medical and surgical retina care
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care and referring‑provider relationships
Interest in developing a long‑term retina practice serving Grand Junction and Western Colorado
