Job description
Retort Operator- 3rd ShiftThe Retort Operator responsibilities include operating FMC rotary sterilizers, continuously monitoring critical control points, especially time and temperatures. Assuring that the finished products meet all thermal process requirements. Monitor equipment to assure that it is operating within the expected parameters. Check sterilized samples for flavor, grain, and texture throughout the process to be certain that all finished product is commercially acceptable. Employees shall follow all the plant safety and quality rules, report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately and maintain compliance with regulations.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:To operate machinery, monitor critical control points and record required information at prescribed intervalsStart up machinery and run pilot samples to check for product heat stability prior to sterilizingTo shutdown machinery, fill out all logs, recorder charts and other recordsLubricate all equipment, clean the work area including all equipments, floors and wall, boil out sterilizersTo maintain test for proper chlorine concentrations in process cooling waterComplete sensory on all finished goods and reworkCheck initial temperature of every mixPerform boilout/ logout procedures and thermometer check proceduresTo determine quantity of stabilizer to be added if necessaryPerform SAP transactions as necessary *Must have a basic understanding of computers in order to operate equipment and to perform SAP transactionsGeneral Expectations: Employee must come to work promptly and regularly, work under the supervision of others, at times under stressful conditions, work within deadlines, and be able to work professionally with others at all times and in all situations. The approximate hourly pay for this position is $25.13. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
