Registered Nurse - Cardiac Observation Unit
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Varied shifts including 3 x 12s: Days , , ). Call requirements include Saturday and Sunday on a rotational basis.
Job Description
The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides high-level care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. This position involves evaluating assigned patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care, as well as assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.
Responsibilities
Admit and prep patients for catheterization procedures.
Start IVs and prepare access for procedures.
Prep patients for cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms.
Recover patients post-procedure who received conscious sedation.
Sedate, circulate, and document bedside procedures including cardioversions and TEE.
Discharge patients with appropriate teaching, documentation, and physical discharge procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Active RN license in Arizona or compact state.
ACLS and BLS certifications.
Experience in PACU, ICU, telemetry, cath lab, or surgery center preferred.
