Patient triage: screening/assessment of patient care problems/issues via telephone/office – patients, medical facilities, offices, referring physicians, etc. Identifies and evaluates patient and family needs, abilities, and readiness to learn via telephone or schedules appointments. Provides instruction and teaching when possible.
Cross‑train for routine, nuclear stress testing and stress echo, and echo with contrast.
Blood pressure checks as ordered by cardiologist.
Anticoagulation management – dosing, medication orders/refills; Lovenox management and patient education.
TEE/cardioversion scheduling and related tasks.
Lab orders and result reviews.
Clinical resource for cardiology group staff, cardiologists and assistance with patient care emergencies, IV access, and medication administration.
Other job functions as designated by office manager.
Participates in QI projects.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Diploma/BSN Nursing program.
Minimum two years of critical care/cardiac experience and/or previous triage or emergency department experience (preferred).
New Jersey nursing license.
BLS/ACLS certification.
Proficient with IV access.
Knowledgeable of basic and advanced arrhythmias; strong understanding of cardiac anatomy & physiology and current cardiac medications.
Good communication skills.
