Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. Scripps La Jolla shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular ICU

Schedule: 72 hours per 2-week pay period | 12-hour night shifts
Location: Scripps Memorial La Jolla
This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K .
CVICU specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states. As a destination center for higher level of cardiac care in Southern California, CVICU implements progressive programs and therapies. As a member of our team, you will gain experience in:
Cardiac surgery
Heart failure, shock, advanced resuscitation measures
Mechanical circulatory supportECMO, LVAD, Impella, Tandem Heart, IABP, CRRT
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice, focusing on Cardiac Diagnosis. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. They will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
The ideal candidate will have one year of adult ICU experience, is committed to elevating their professional practice, and seeks to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The CVICU is committed to education and hands-on training opportunities to take nurses from novice to expert in cardiac care through our customized training with Clinical Mentors, Educators, and one-on-one preceptorships. Required Qualifications:
Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
One (1) year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association BLS
Current American Heart Association ACLS
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Experience with Hemodynamic Monitoring in heart failure and cardiac surgery population

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
