nnGENERAL SUMMARY
n
nnThe RN – Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating and directing the work flow and functions of designated service personnel to facilitate safe and efficient work flow and practices. Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Reports to the designated manager.

nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
n
nnAssists in the selection, training, orientation and competency validation of designated personnel.
n
nnSupervises, plans, develops and organizes services and activities to support medical practices.
n
nnWorks in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the practice physician(s).
n
nnPerforms a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice.
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
n
nnLICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
n
nnCurrent Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
n
nnMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
n
nnProfessional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing.
n
nnTechnical and professional knowledge and skills for clinical operations of the service area, usually acquired through 3 - 5 years’ progressive Clinical/Supervisory experience in a practice setting.
n
nnPediatric experience preferred.
n
nnCPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
n
nnWORKING CONDITIONS
n
nnExpected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
