RN Educator | Simulation Coordinator
Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as an RN Educator and Simulation Coordinator, where your expertise will shape the future of nursing education. This role focuses on addressing the educational and developmental needs of nursing staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage grant-funded simulation programs to enhance clinical education.
Support nursing units through classroom instruction, clinical experiences, and innovative learning technologies.
Design and implement comprehensive education programs for orientation, ongoing competency, and professional growth.
Develop and execute simulation scenarios in partnership with nursing departments and inter-professional teams to foster critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
Mentor and coach nursing content experts and preceptors, applying best instructional practices aligned with INACSL standards.
Utilize performance improvement strategies to evaluate and refine educational offerings, including continuing education and mentorship.
Collect and analyze feedback and data to assess learning outcomes and report on grant achievements.
Maintain and organize simulation equipment following best practices.
Collaborate with educators, administration, unit managers, and clinical specialists to maximize educational opportunities and cost efficiency.
Incorporate research and evidence-based practices into nursing education program development.
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience, including at least one year in adult education or teaching. Proven ability to develop and implement education programs based on needs assessments. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and a strong track record in teaching nursing skills and critical thinking.
Certifications/Licenses: Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment. ACLS Instructor certification is preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Physical and Work Environment: This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity such as lifting up to 35 lbs, walking, standing, and various movements including turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. The work environment may include exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with challenging individuals, but generally involves minimal physical discomfort in a teaching setting with typical office noise and distractions.
