About This Role
The RN Emergency Department position at Northwell Health involves providing comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are skilled in collaborating with healthcare teams.

What You'll Do
Assess the patient’s physiologic health status.
Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition.
Assess level of pain and pain management.
Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care.
Assess patient’s psychosocial health status.
Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations.
Identify cultural/ethnic requirements to reduce anxiety and ensure satisfaction.
Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes.
Identify actual/potential patient problems and needs for teaching.
Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities.
Implement the plan of care and maintain constant vigilance over patient care.
Administer prescribed treatments and document accurately.
Collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.
Participate in patient and family education.
Requirements
Education
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience
Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
Licenses & Certifications
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
