Provides overall supervision of the organization in collaboration with and in the absence of the administrative/executive team. Makes administrative decisions, collaborates with the Nursing Directors and other departments, ensures patient and staff safety, and oversees the functioning of the organization. Assists with/facilitates clinical functions. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

The House Supervisor is like a charge nurse for the entire hospital. They respond to most codes(cardiac, rapid response, agitated patients), they make patient bed assignments, coordinate care and deal with issues when they cannot be resolved in the unit. Nurses with ED experience tend to do the best in this role.Variable Shift • 3 x 12s.• Prefer rotating mostly days, with occasional nights.• Rotating days of week• Shift times: 0600 to 1830, occasional 1800 to 0630.• Certs: ACLS, PALS, Teams Advanced• Experience: Problem solver, critical care or ED helpful• Years of Experience: 5+ prEducation and Work Experience:Bachelor?s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: RequiredMaster's Degree: PreferredFive years' technical experience: PreferredOne year's experience working in a critical care setting: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredAdvanced Cardiovascular?Life Support (ACLS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required for all facilities, except Behavioral HealthClinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: PreferredFacility Specific License/Certifications:AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR: RequiredAHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: RequiredDepartment Specific License/Certifications:AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS: Required
