Job Description
Registered Nurse - Infusion
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Infusion Unit. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Administer infusion therapies including chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications.
Monitor patient responses to therapies and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Utilize technology such as EPIC for patient documentation and record-keeping.
Operate various infusion equipment, including Alaris pumps and elastomeric pumps, ensuring proper function and patient safety.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and any potential side effects.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications: Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
Chemotherapy certification required.
Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient infusion.
Experience managing patients with common diagnoses including oncology, neurological conditions, anemia, and gastrointestinal issues.
Technology and Equipment: Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records, Omnicell, Ascom, and glucometers.
Proficient in using Alaris pumps and elastomeric pumps for patient treatment.
Work Environment:
The role requires the flexibility to float to different units as needed, providing blood product administration and other infusion therapies in a dynamic healthcare setting.
