nWhat You’ll Do:
nAs a Radiology RN, you will be a key clinical resource within our imaging environment. You'll have the opportunity to:

nnExercise independent judgment and clinical expertise, performing specialized technical procedures and responding confidently when nursing intervention is needed.

nResponsibilities
nnnProvides and coordinates nursing care to patients u tilizing the nursing process.
n
nnConsistently utilizes a holistic approach( considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational safety and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.
n
nnProvides proper explanation of procedures to patients, their families, and others as needed to insure the patients understanding of t he procedure to be performed.
n
nnCollaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital p olicy and legal limitations.
n
nnPractices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination while assisting Physicians with procedures and treatment that require professional nursing skills.
n
nnAssists in the transfer of critically ill patients, cares for emergency room, or ICU p atients when staffing allows.
n
nnDemonstrates skill in using monitors, infusion pumps, pacemakers, oxyge n equipment, and respirators.
n
nnInforms and prepares patients and family for special proced ures . Does patient teaching.
n
nnCooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the Radiology Department . Covers call and rotates shifts to insure proper coverage of Radiology.
n
nnAdminister medications for pre-op, sedation, or pain relief and monitors patient condition as ordered . Initiates appropriate intervention for contrast reaction, hypotensive e pisodes, and codes as needed.
n
nnPerforms adult/pediatric urinary catheterization as required .
n
n nQualifications
nEducation:
nnGraduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
n nLicense(s)/Certification(s):
nnCurrent licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
n nExperience:
nn2 years of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency
n nOther:
nnLevel 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
