Qualifications Required Education: Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Required Experience: Two (2) years of registered nursing experience and two (2) years of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) experience Preferred Experience: Advanced lactation consultant training. Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience. Five (5) years of lactation consult experience. Required Certification/License/Registry: Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) (includes multistate compact licensure). IBCLC credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). We look forward to speaking with you. Responsibilities Job Summary: Provides and coordinates outpatient breastfeeding care. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity. Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. Communicates effectively with breastfeeding mothers, physicians, and colleagues to provide essential breastfeeding support in-person, virtually, and via telephone. Educates staff members and community members in breastfeeding techniques. Oversees weekly breastfeeding support group. Assists in the breastfeeding retail store. Updates resources and documentation.
