As one of the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, CommonSpirit Health delivers more than 20 million patient encounters annually through more than 2,300 clinics, care sites and 158 hospital-based locations, in addition to its home-based services and virtual care offerings.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Manager, Clinical Services Periop, you will provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of perioperative nurses and technicians, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices and regulatory standards. You will develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to optimize patient outcomes and operational workflows. Every day you will manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. You will also monitor key performance indicators, analyze clinical data, and implement process improvements to enhance patient safety and satisfaction. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in perioperative nursing, exceptional leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. You will effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other departments, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and efficient resource utilization.Job RequirementsRequiredGraduation from an accredited school of nursing, and four (4) years related work that would demonstrate attainment of requisite job knowledge/abilities, including two (2) years in a charge nurse/leadership position (or equivalent)Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, techniques, protocols and tools/equipment of the nursing profession in general, and of the perioperative clinical nursing specializationKnowledge of FHS policies and standards, and legal regulatory/accreditation requirements applicable to matters within designated scope of responsibilityKnowledge of the principles, practices and methodologies pertaining to healthcare delivery systems and standards of careKnowledge of clinical competencies and clinical care standards/practicesKnowledge of Medical Necessity criteria and published healthcare coding conventions applicable to health information managementKnowledge of the principles and practices of employee supervision, development and performance managementKnowledge of the functionality, application and use of electronic medical record and related systems sufficient to manage assigned daily operationsAbility to understand financial and/or operational reports, analyze data, identify improvement opportunities and implement effective responsesAbility to identify compliance deficiencies and/or systemic weaknesses and implement timely corrective action to forestall or remedyAbility to keep abreast of current and changing laws and regulatory standards and their impact on operations and services/activitiesAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, interpret requirements and draw valid conclusionsAbility to express ideas and convey information effectively in verbal and written communicationAbility to develop and implement effective policies, standards and procedures relating to matters under defined scope of responsibilityAbility to demonstrate effective supervisory skills, including developing clear performance expectations, hiring, coaching, conflict management, evaluating, resolving performance problems, and group facilitationAbility to work effectively in stressful situations, and appropriately prioritize multiple and conflicting priorities/demandsAbility to demonstrate effective leadership skills, including the ability to serve as role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making, delegating, and communicating of ideas and informationAbility to maintain flexibility, cooperation, and participate in cross-organizational performance improvement activitiesAbility to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable levelAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the positionCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of NursingCurrent healthcare provider BLS certificationPreferredBSN or Bachelor's Degree in a related fieldSpecialty certification (e.g. CNOR, Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPNWhere You'll WorkVirginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award winning health systems in Washington state - CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason.
