Post-Partum Registered Nurse (RN)
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Weekends required.
Job Description
The Post-Partum RN will provide care for patients who have recently given birth, supporting both the newborn and the mother. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and providing education on infant care and breastfeeding.
Responsibilities
Perform assessments on postpartum mothers and newborns.
Administer medications and IV therapies as needed.
Provide education to parents regarding newborn care, feeding, and safety.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes in condition.
Assist with breastfeeding support and education.
Participate in discharge planning and patient education.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Must hold a current RN license.
2 years of nursing experience preferred, with charge experience preferred.
Certifications: BLS, NRP required.
Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic.
Ability to float within similar units (NICU, LD, ANTE).
