Registered Nurse – Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30).
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in caring for patients throughout the childbirth process, demonstrating excellent clinical skills and the ability to manage both routine and emergency situations.
Responsibilities
Perform labor and delivery assessments and monitor patient vital signs.
Manage labor and delivery progression and assist with various delivery methods.
Provide immediate postnatal care and assessments for mothers and newborns.
Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart rate patterns.
Administer medications, including analgesics and anesthesia, as ordered.
Document patient assessments and care in the electronic medical record system.
Educate patients and families on newborn care and postpartum recovery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Active New York State Registered Nurse License.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an LDRP or similar setting.
Experience with Allscripts charting system preferred.
Knowledge of low-risk patient management and facility workload of 100-200 births per month.
