RN NURSE MANAGER | PACU

Full Time Medical West, McCalla, AL, US

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Supervisor to join our team at UAB Medical West. As a PACU Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Phase I and Phase II recovery rooms, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety. This is a working manager role that includes taking patients in addition to leadership responsibilities. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care. Your leadership and management skills will be essential in ensuring the success of PACU within Surgical Services

Minimum Qualifications:

Current RN license in the state of Alabama.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

BLS/ACLS/PALS certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.

Must have a minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in critical care/PACU with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role preferred.

Must have clinical expertise in the field of nursing specific to the unit

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Team player and ability to problem solve

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the PACU, including staffing, patient flow, scheduling, payroll, and employee engagement.

Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care and safety.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Manage and mentor a team of nurses, providing guidance and support as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and unit operations.

Skills:

As a Supervisor, you will utilize your strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills on a daily basis. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety. Your ability to manage and mentor a team of nurses will be essential in ensuring the success of our Med/Surg unit. Additionally, your experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma will be beneficial in streamlining operations and improving patient outcomes.
