Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our PCU Nurse at Good Samaritan Hosptial, you will help critically ill patients by providing exceptional care, monitoring and managing their conditions, and administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Every day you willbe helping patients recover from surgery, accidents, illness, or complications from chronic conditions, with the goal of transfer or discharge.
To be successful in this role, you must be diligent and observant, with the ability to quickly spot changes in their patients’ condition and act appropriately.
Collaborate with physicians and nursing team to devise and implement individualized care plans for patients
Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while fostering a supportive and compassionate environment
We are offering up to $9,000 sign-on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Job Requirements
Required
Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 5 months of hire
Where You'll Work
The PCU at CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 40 bed unit. We specialize in intermediate care. All patients have additional monitoring via telemetry. We strive to provide a level of care and highly skilled nurses that allow our community and surrounding areas to receive health care close to home.
Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
